Three cocktails on this menu were made with the vibe and energy in mind of some very special cities in the United states. In the Explore category, you can discover the differing and rich cuisines of Los Angeles, dc, and Miami which are all paired with specialty cocktails below. Each of these cocktails were thoughtfully made after my experience in these places.
MANGO JALAPEñO MARGARITA
the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and refreshing for a hot summer day. front and center - my favorite one on the menu, this margarita is a memorable drink that I can guarantee, you won't be able to put down.
Step 1: Muddle fresh jalapeño and mint leaves at the bottom of your cup
Step 2: Fill up your cup with your desired amount of ice
Step 3: Fill the cup with your desired amount of your favorite brand of tequila
Step 4: Fill the remaining portion of the glass with equal parts of unsweetened mango and pineapple juice
Step 5: Garnish the top with fresh jalapeño slices, mint leaves, and pineapple slice
Sunrise in Miami
A refreshingly tart blend of dragonfruit and passion fruit that reminds me of those unforgettable Miami sunrises. Miami is famed for its rich Cuban cuisine which heavily centers on tropical fruits and vegetables. The ingredients for this cocktail can be found at any local Whole Foods, Mother's Market, or Farmer's Market
Step 1: Thaw and melt frozen dragonfruit pack in a bowl with warm water
Step 2: Fill your cup with your thawed dragonfruit purée
Step 3: Fill your cup with your desired amount of ice
Step 4: Fill the remaining space of your cup with your favorite brand of vodka or Caribbean rum
Step 5: Garnish the cup with frozen or fresh passion fruit* and fresh mint leaves
* I prefer frozen passion fruit which can be found at Whole Foods under the Pitaya brand. Frozen dragonfruit from this brand is also the most ideal for this recipe although fresh can work just as well.
Treasure Island
A sweet citrusy mix that perfectly mimics the energy of the Southern Californian Coast. Inspired by my favorite beach in the OC, the Treasure Island cocktail will have you feeling like you're relaxing on a white sand beach. LA cuisine is famous for its bright flavors and incorporation of healthy produce. All ingredients can be found at any local grocery store.
Step 1: Fill your punchbowl or cup with ice
Step 2: Squeeze the juice of 2-3 fresh limes depending on your liking
Step 3: Add 2 shots of your favorite brand of vodka
Step 4: Add 1 shot of coconut rum (can be substituted with any liquor of your choice or skipped altogether)
Step 5: Pour a dash of blue curaçao for color and citrusy taste.
Step 6: Garnish with fresh lime and lemon slices as well as fresh blueberries
Espresso Martini
Inspired by the bustle of Washington, DC, this light take on a classic cocktail will have you energized and ready to take on the night. The ingredients featured can be found at any local grocery store and are most likely already in your cabinets.
Step 1: Fill a tall cup with ice
Step 2: *IF* using a coffee machine, pour hot coffee into your tall glass with ice.
(*IF* using instant coffee – pour instant coffee into ice water and combine until smooth)
Step 3: Mix desired amount of coffee with 1 shot of Kahlua liquor and 2 shots of your favorite brand of vodka in a martini glass
Step 4: Top your glass with cold foam from your coffee machine with plant-based milk*
Step 5: Garnish your glass with instant coffee or coffee grounds from your used coffee pod
*(If you’re not using a coffee machine, you can fill your glass with your favorite plant-based milk but note that the color will differ from the image)
Pineapple Cucumber Cooler
A refreshingly light cocktail that's a perfect pair for the hottest of summer days. Unsweetened pineapple juice accompanied with the cooling effects of cucumber will have you feeling refreshed after just one sip.
Step 1: Muddle cucumber and a splash of agave at the bottom of your tall cup
Step 2: Fill your tall cup with ice
Step 3: Add 1-2 shots of your favorite brand of cucumber vodka (can be found at any liquor store)
Step 4: Top your glass with unsweetened pineapple juice and the juice of half a lime
Step 5: Garnish your glass with cucumber cubes and fresh mint leaves
